The fact there are no posts in the East England rivers section of this forum really worries me.
Muddy puddles and clinical commercials are continuing to dominate every aspect of the press and as a consequence the great river fisheries of the UK continue to decline through lack of attendance and support.
I am a devout river angler and to date this season I have logged several 150lb bags of Bream plus numerous large bags of silver fish from the River Witham.
Is it purely that puddles and commercials make it so very easy to catch fish or have anglers become too lazy and complacent to actually pit them selves against the true challenge of real angling?
Out of curiosity, I recently fished a local commercial venue and was amazed that I could guarantee a carp per cast on a blind hook and not a single fish had a top lip!
This venue boasted a three hour match record in excess of 350lb - no wonder the fish were in such poor health and so easy to catch.
Are there any proper river anglers out there?
